I don't think I have any kind of crippling mental disorder or anything, but could someone explain why the following has been happening and what to do about it?
I have always been a bit unusual in this way - if something moved one way I would usually have to move it the other way and then move it back again to it's original position or I wouldn't feel right. And if I was watching a film or tv show I would get the feeling that I had to explain something to myself in my head, that I fully understood (such as what something is) in needless detail as though explaining it to a young child.
But that in itself is not all that unusual (I hope). But over the last few months I've been getting wierder and wierder. I have this constant feeling that there is someone else occupying my mind; almost every time I day dream or think of something unusual I then get the feeling that this other entity occupying my mind thought it was real, and I have to go back to where I was standing / what I was doing when I had that thought and explain that it was a hypothetical situation or such like. I often have these really wierd thoughts jumping around my head with some relevence to what is going on and then (getting more and more annoyed) have to explain who and what I actually am (British, 17 years old etc.) and then apoligise before doing some wierd 'ritual' to make everything alright, otherwise I get the feeling that in some way my life will be altered. I also used to stand in front of mirrors or hold objects and then explain to them (silently in my mind) who I am and what I hope to achieve, in some way believing that that object would make all of my life plans come true and bore some magical intelligence, even though I am not religious or anything. However, I now try to politely explain to the objects as little a I can for paranoia that they are actually malevolent and will stop my life plans from being achieved.
I know I am probably just making a big deal out of nothing, but it is driving me more and more insane as I have to do the same things over and over again to get them perfectly right and have to walk into and out of my bed room over and over again, turning my light on and off each time, trying to either turn the light on in the 'right' way or explain something to the light switch while turning it on without phrasing it badly; if I do phrase it badly or don't speak fast enough I have to go out and repeat the whole operation.

Thanks for the answers and everything. So should I see a psychiatrist? I'm British so it should be free via NHS. However, I don't really want to admit to my parents that I do this or anything. I don't know why, but I always get the feeling that admitting / making clear to my parents that I feel emotions or am worried about my mental health is in some way extremely embarrassing or wrong. Probably just because I'm a teenager. But would seeing one definitely be beneficial?
